Wine 1: Graševina kvalitetno from winery PP Orahovica in the eastern province of Slavonia. The graševina grape is also known as the welschriesling. This super fresh young dry white wine has a beautiful floral nose, lots of fruit and is pleasant leafy with a delicious soft bitter in the end.
Wine 2: Chardonnay + Graševina from winery Iuris, located at the eastern border to Serbia along the banks of the Danube. The wine has an amazing hay colour. It is a beautiful dry white wine with light oak and has beautiful acids and mineral tones thanks to the special blend with the indigenous Graševina.
Wine 3: Frankovka Rosé again from winery PP Orahovica. The Frankovka grape is also known as the Blaufränkisch. Frankovka Rosé is dry and fresh, like white wine, with aroma of red berries and strawberries mainly. It is an excellent aperitif wine for the summer months and pairs well with seafood, pasta, grilled vegetables and fresh salads.
Wine 4: Dika Frankovka from winery Feravino also located in Slavonia. The wine has received an honourable mention in the ‘Perswijn Koopgids’. It is a beautiful full ruby red wine with aromas of berries and vanilla. A perfect balance between the acids and the pleasant tannins give this wine a stable character. The wine can perfectly be drunk lightly chilled and pairs well with BBQ or spicy dishes.
Wine 5: Jubo'v from Winery Vina Carić located on the popular island of Hvar in sunny Dalmatia. The wine is a blend of the native Croatian grape Plavac Mali (70%) mixed with 30% Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is dark red in colour. The taste is soft and dry. Due to the balanced blend, the wine has light tannins and is very accessible. Jubo'v pairs very well with pasta, squid risotto or barbecue dishes.
Wine 6: Hadrian Prošek from Winery PZ Svirče which is also located on the island of Hvar. Hadrian Prošek is a unique dessert wine made from the indigenous Bogdanuša grape. This dessert wine is characterized by a pleasant smell and a harmonic taste with a lot of raisins. In summer, it can be used as a basis for a super cocktail. Mix one part of Prošek with 1 part ginger ale. Add a lot of ice cubes, a few drops of lime juice and a crushed stalks of celery. Cheers!
