Vina Carić - Unique: Vina Carić Bogdanjuša

Bogdanjuša is a wine is made of a unique indigenous white Croatian grape.

The Bogdanuša grape is an indigenous Dalmatian grape from the Adriatic island of Hvar. Literally translated, it means 'Godsend'. Originally, the wines of these grapes were drunk only during religious festivals. The grapes grow on the UNESCO protected Stari Grad fields.

Taste: Bogdanjuša is a monovarietal wine. It has a scent of yellow plums, anise and quince. The taste is lush, dry and juicy with beautiful acids.
Serve with: Serve with poultry, fresh fish or shellfish. This wine is also legendary with all kind of cheeses as well.
Ideal serving temperature: 12 degrees Celsius.
Alcohol percentage: 12%
Soil: The grapes grow on the old Stari Grad fields on red (iron-oxide) soil.
Extra information: This wine has been named ‘super cheese wine by Betty Koster, the cheese queen of the Netherlands, as it pairs surprisingly well with many cheeses. The well-known Croatian painter Edo Murtic designed the original label. The well-know Zagreb-based designer Nenad Dogan subsequently modified Murtic’s original designed.
