Description: Graševina is the most represented variety of grapes in Croatia with the 27% share in the total vineyard surface area (approximately 7000 Ha). Terroir and climate in central Slovenia provides the grapes with the ideal balance between acids and alcohol, which makes them the most drinkable and aroma rich Graševinas. A thicker skin of the berry and the place of the grape ripening enables longer survivability of the grapes on the vine. That's why PP Orahovica produces Grasevina of the highest category of quality.
Grape: Graševina, in other countries also known as Laški rizling (Slovenia), Olasz rizling (Hungary), Rizling vlašky (Czech Republic, Welschriesling (Austria, Germany) and Riesling italico (Italy).
Taste: The colour of the wine is yellow-green and apple-aroma is predominant. It features a pleasant acidity and freshness of the wine, with a gresevina specific bitter finish. It leaves a harmonious impression in the mouth. The amounts of alcohol, acid and sugar are pleasantly balanced.
Serve with: From the gastronomy standpoint, Grasevina is an extremely adaptable wine, but its quality will be expressed best with white meat dishes, noble freshwater and saltwater fish, as well as stronger meat. And last but not least, it pairs very well with oysters!

Extra information: 2013 was abundant with high summer and medium high fall temperatures, which created more sugar for the grapes. That is why the aromas are fuller and fruitier. At the same time the acids remained appropriately high, which creates the impression of freshness and nicely complements the low sugar residue, so the wine is harmonious.
