Taste: This dark red wine has a beautiful nose of sweet plums and amarena cherries. You taste a lot of dark red fruit. The higher sugar levels nicely compensate the firm tannins and the alcohol percentage. Serve with: Pašticada (beef stew), Lamb, lobster, black squid risotto and barbecue meat.
Ideal serving temperature: 18 degrees Celsius.
Type of wine: Premium quality red wine.
Details vinification: Fermentation on natural yeasts. Maceration for five to six days. Maturing in barrique barrels of new Slavonian oak for at least one year.
Alcohol percentage: 15.2% vol.
Acidity: 4.9 g / l
Sugar: 6.1 g / l
Extra information: The vineyards are located on the very steep slopes of the protected wine region Ivan Dolac. The grapes grow in the best positions of these old (20-30 years) vineyards on the south side of the island of Hvar. The ancient Greeks founded the Pharos colony (Hvar) in 384 BC on the spot where nowadays is the town of Stari Grad.
