Taste: The colour of the wine is deep dark red. The taste is characterized by lots of dark fruit such as blackberries and blackcurrants and has some green peppers in the nose. He has pleasant tannins and is clearly the big brother of the 'normal' Plavac of this winery.
Serve with: Plavac de Luxe pairs very well with red meat, lamb and game dishes.
Ideal serving temperature: 18 degrees Celsius.
Type of wine: Premium quality red wine.
Details of vinification: The controlled fermentation is carried out under pressure in closed tanks without air. The fermentation takes three to four days at a temperature of 22 to 27 degrees. On the fourth day the wine goes into other tanks in which the fermentation process slowly stops. Then the wine goes into stainless steel tanks to mature for three years.
Alcohol percentage: 14.5% vol.
Acidity: 4.6 g / l
Sugar: 3.5 g / l
Extra information: The vineyards are located in the protected wine region Ivan Dolac on the south side of the island of Hvar. The ancient Greeks founded the Pharos colony (Hvar) in 384 BC on the spot where is nowadays the town of Stari Grad. The grapes are grown in an ecological way, so without the use of pesticides.
