Did you know that the Chardonnay has one Croatian ancestor? DNA research has shown that the Chardonnay is a cross between the French grape Pinot Noir and the native Croatian grape, Štajerska Belina.

Taste: This light yellow wine has scents of flowers, citrus ice cream bonbons, yellow apple and a hint of vanilla. The taste is nice and juicy and nicely dry, a little buttery with lots of citrus and lovely acidity. The finish is long and creamy with some vanilla aromas from the oak aging.
Serve with: Salmon with butter sauce, Caesar salad, Tuna tataki with sesame, slightly spicy Asian chicken dishes, Mexican food, guacamole, risotto with vegetables, roasted chicken, seafood in cream sauces and various cheeses.
Ideal serving temperature: 10-12 degrees Celsius
Vinification: After pressing the grapes, the alcoholic fermentation took place for 12 days in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius. The wine then rested sûr lie for four months with battonnage in 6000 liter Slavonian oak barrels. The purpose of the wood aging is not so much to add aromas, but to make the wine rounder and to give it a silky smooth structure.

The grapes grow on clay soil and come from the Božilovac and Mataruge positions. The vineyards in Feričanci are surrounded by an oak forest. This high quality oak wood is even used in Piedmont and Tuscany for barrels to age wines.
The wine has won a bronze medal at Decanter with 88 points.
