Croatian wine is still not known to everyone. The question many people ask is; “Croatia, do they produce wine there?”. Of course! In fact, it is one of the oldest wine regions in the world. Viticulture in present-day Croatia existed hundreds of years before the rise of the Roman Empire. Wine was made in Croatian much earlier than in France, Spain and Italy.
So Croatian wine has been around for a long time and is gaining enormously in popularity. In New York, top restaurants serve fine wines from Istria, Slavonia and Dalmatia. The Japanese and Koreans love everything related to this beautiful Mediterranean country. And now Western Europe is also beginning to recognize the quality of Croatia's character wines. In the Netherlands and Belgium, top sommeliers and wine writers are now convinced of the quality of Croatian wine. Are you convinced as well?
Many of our wines have already been highly rated by the well-known Dutch wine writers Hubrecht Dijker and Harold Hamersma of De Grote Hamersma. The tasting panel of Perswijn Magazine has also written very positively about Croatian wines many times. In addition, we have wines from Croatia in our range that have won medals in international competitions such as Decanter, International Wine Challenge and the International Balkans Wine Competition.

There are two distinct wine-producing regions in Croatia. The continental region in the north-east of the country (Plješivica, Prigorje, Zagorje) and north-west (Slavonia and Dunav), produces (mainly) white wines, similar in style to the neighbouring areas of Slovenia, Austria and Hungary.
The second wine regions is the coastal region. On the north coast, Istrian wines are similar to those produced in neighbouring Italy, while further south (Dalmatia) production is more towards big Mediterranean-style reds.
On the islands and the Dalmatian coast, local grape varietals, microclimates and the rather harsh nature of the vineyards leads to some highly individual wines, and some of Croatia's best known.
