The Baranja region where this wine comes from is located on the border between Croatia and Hungary and is named after the wine growing that has been practiced by the local population for centuries. The originally Hungarian word ‘Baranya’ means ‘the mother of wine’. This area includes the Baranja wine region in Croatia and the well-known Villany region in Hungary.
Graševina is the most common grape variety in Croatia. And this Graševina Select from Vina Belje is a true culinary wonder.
Despite the fact that all Select wines from Vina Belje are harvested by hand, they have an excellent price-quality ratio. There are few Croatian and international wines in the same price range that have won as many international medals as the Belje Select wines.
Vina Belje Select wines are not only the perfect choice for (daily) shopping in wine shops, but also for bistros, beach bars, wine bars, oyster bars, grill and burger bars, pizzerias and cafés.

Taste: The wine is light yellow-green in color. Both in the smell and the taste you get many aromas of fresh (green) apple and citrus fruits in combination with a beautiful minerality. The taste is crispy fresh, rich and juicy. The aftertaste is long with fine appetizing acids. The main characteristics of this wine are the unbridled fruitiness and freshness, in which the minerality of the Baranja terroir is unmistakably evident.
Serve with: Graševina Select goes well with grilled chicken, white meat, veal or pork. But it also goes well with freshwater and sea fish dishes with anchovies or sardines. This wine is also delicious with oysters and a mussel pan. And this wine can handle much more. How about a ham, cheeses, a snack platter, (green) asparagus, turkey, grilled vegetables such as courgette and aubergine and tomato-based pasta sauces. You can even drink this wine with a rice table, in short; it is a true gastronomic all-rounder.
