This unique Croatian white blend comes from the hills of Pleševica, not far from the capital Zagreb towards the border with Slovenia. It is made from the real Croatian grape variety Graševina in combination with a number of beautiful cool climate grape varieties.
Winery: Lagradi
Region: Plešivica (Uplands)
Grape: Graševina, Riesling, Incrocio Manzoni (cross between Riesling Renano and Pinot Blanc) and Silvanac Zeleni (Green Sylvaner) in the ratio: 30/30/30/10
Vintage: 2021
Taste: This exciting light greenish yellow wine has a fresh and mineral scent with a green apple and a little peach. The taste is also wonderfully fresh and dry with lots of citrus and a little grapefruit in the aftertaste. It is a layered and appetizing wine with nice length.
Serve with: It is a nice gastronomic glass of wine with many possibilities. Of course many fish go with it, but also charcuterie, grilled chicken, light pork dishes or beautiful salads with tuna, salmon or duck go very well with this versatile wine. Or how about sauerkraut dishes that they often eat locally or a nice cheese fondue.
Ideal serving temperature: 10-12 degrees Celsius
Production method: After harvesting, the grapes were pressed immediately without first being separated from the stems. The grapes of the different grape varieties have all had their own fermentation process, exclusively in stainless steel tanks for 10 to 14 days at a temperature of 14 degrees Celsius. The wine then rested sur lie for four months with bâttonnage before the blend was made.
