Aromano is the special Orange wine from the Bolfan winery. It is a gourmet wine made of 95% Pinot Gris and 5% Traminac. The wine has extensive gastronomic options.
Grape: 95% Pinot Gris, 5% Traminac
Content: 0.75 l
Taste: The wine has intense notes of overripe apricot with a special spiciness. The wine is full-bodied but at the same time also soft thanks to the aging in oak barrels and the beautiful acids. The skin of the grapes is also fermented (which gives the amber color) therefore the wine has very pleasant soft tannins.
Serve with: Aromano has many gastronomic options. For example, the wine pairs well with dishes such as turkey with zucchini and smoked cheese, pork medallions fried with baked smoked cheese, chicken livers in bacon with mushroom cream sauce, but also garlic shrimp and even spicy dishes. With bue cheese it becomes very buttery.
Serving temperature: 10-12 degrees Celsius
Alcohol percentage: 14,5%
Vinification: The Pinot Gris and the Traminac have had a separate fermentation process in stainless steel tanks where the peels are fermented with the amber colour of the wine. Afterwards the blend is made in large wooden barrels of Slavonian oak. The wine is then aged in these barrels for ten months.
Specifics: Wijnhuis Bolfan is eco-certified. The wine is suitable for vegans.
The soil on which the grapes grow is a bit gritty with lots of marlstone limestone and some clay. It is very mineral-rich so that the wines have a mineral salty taste.
