The Pinot Crni (noir) is one of the world's most beloved light-bodied wines. And this biodynamically produced Pinot Noir from Bolfan is a lot more light-footed than the sturdy cannons from Dalmatia that people often know from Croatia. With its fruity yet spicy character, it is a real gastro wine.
Winery: Bolfan
Region: Zagorje
Grape: Pinot Noir
Vintage: 2018
Taste: It is a beautiful light ruby red wine. The scent is spicy with a bit of leather, toast and chocolate but also fruity. The taste is also mainly fruity with berries, cherries and chocolate nibs. The finish is long and soft and also slightly spicy with a little vanilla.
Serve with: This wine is gastronomically versatile. It goes well with cheeses, light meat dishes, truffle gnocchi, burgers, beef teriyaki, boeuf Bourguinonne or a delicious mac&cheese. With dishes with walnuts, the wine becomes even more spicy and with truffle dishes it almost splashes out of your glass.
Ideal serving temperature: 16-18 degrees Celsius.
Alcohol percentage: 13%
Additional information: the wine is biodynamically produced and has an ECO label. The wine is suitable for vegans.
Soil: The soil around the winery where the grapes grow is very loose in structure with perfect water permeability. The chemical composition is neutral to slightly alkaline with a pH value of 7.5, which are ideal conditions for viticulture.
