Frankovka – Croatia’s name for Blaufränkisch – found its way here during the Habsburg Empire. In Slavonia’s sun-drenched vineyards, this grape shows a softer, juicier side than in its Austrian homeland. Feravino’s Classic Frankovka captures that style perfectly: bright purple in the glass, aromatic, and ideal served lightly chilled.
This wine offers vibrant aromas of blackberries, blueberries and a hint of leather and tobacco. On the palate it’s juicy and fruit-forward, with notes of sour cherry and wild berries. There’s barely any tannin, just a smooth texture and a touch of almond and vanilla in the finish. A great choice for those who prefer lighter reds – especially during warmer months.
Serve this red at around 15°C and enjoy it with grilled chicken, barbecued dishes, pepperoni pizza or a charcuterie board. Thanks to its gentle character and soft tannins, it pairs well with a wide range of casual meals and is just as lovely for a laid-back drink outdoors.
